GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) Two new polls are expected to be released this week that could change the race for the U.S. Senate in Wisconsin.

With just five weeks until the August 14 primary former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson appears to be the man to beat.

Thompson not only leads the field of Republicans looking to move on to the general election, but also the lone Democrat in the race, Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin.

On Tuesday Public Policy Polling will release its poll shedding new light on the race.

Then on Wednesday the highly anticipated Marquette University Law School Poll will be released.

The candidates are hoping to replace retiring Democrat Herb Kohl. The seat is highly contested as Republicans look to take control of the Senate in the November elections.

Your Local Election Headquarters will stay on top of these polls and this important race and have more information as it becomes available.
