John Merritt Kendall

John was reared on the family farm near Tuscola, Texas. He graduated from Jim Ned High School in May 1957. He joined the Air Force and was stationed in Tokyo, Japan where he met his wife, Kyoko (Kay). They had four children, one of which preceded them in death. John worked for Timex, H & R Block, and Abilene Christian University and delivered the Abilene Reporter News for several years. John also ran a small bookkeeping and seasonal tax preparation service. He was a member of the Jaycees until 1975. He was a member of the Oldham Church of Christ. His passing brings heart-felt memories to many people.
He is survived by three children: Linda Kendall-Thompson, John Michael Kendall and Merritt Lee Kendall, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Peter L. Kendall of Orange, Texas.
