(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Every morning, Ron Fisher walks into the Division Four Courtroom at the Buchanan County Courthouse.

A bailiff for Judge Kellogg, Fisher takes his seat on a bench. Something he has been doing for 13 years.

"Went by pretty quick," said Ron Fisher, a candidate for the Buchanan County Sheriff. "I'm honored. Had a lot of great memories. Worked with a lot of fine officers, outstanding officers."

Stepping into the courtroom, you can see the bond between judge and bailiff on the wall. There are even a few awards for Fisher.

One for Bailiff of the Year in 2009.

"I'm sure I have a good campaign manager up there in Judge Kellogg," said Fisher. "But I was very honored to get it."

Once again, the 38-year veteran is hoping to trade his seat in the courtroom for the seat right across the street from the court house.

He is running for Buchanan County Sheriff. Just four years ago, he lost to Mike Strong by 366 votes.

This time around, he is hoping to make the cut.

"I'm a people person," said Fisher. "People can come up to me, stand and talk to them. I'll try to help them as best as I can."

But no matter what happens in next week's primary, Fisher will still continue to do what he loves.

"I work for an outstanding judge here," said Fisher. "I work for a good sheriff across the street. It has been a pleasure to work here."
