Pam, along with her twin sister Pat, were born in Topeka Kansas to Clyde and Olivia Wilkerson, Jr. on September 15, 1947. She grew up in Fort Worth Texas and graduated from Pascal High School. She and her husband, Larry Wheeler, met and graduated from Austin College in Sherman, Texas and enjoyed 40 wonderful years of marriage. Pam spent 32 years as a public and private elementary and kindergarten teacher, except for the time she joined Larry in Iceland and Spain while they were in the U.S. Navy. Most recently she taught 22 years in Clyde CISD elementary school as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher. While teaching, she found time to complete her master's degree in reading at Hardin-Simmons University. She was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church where she served her Lord as a pre-school Sunday School teacher and a Girls In Action missionary group leader. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education
Pam was devoted to her students and her family and her "Golden Girl" friends, but over the past 5 years discovered the overwhelming joy of being "Mimi" to Jake and Ella. She will be forever remembered for the influence she has had on these young lives.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Olivia Wilkerson, Jr. of Fort Worth and her sister-in-law Michele Wheeler of San Antonio. Pam is survived by her husband Larry Wheeler, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren Mindy, Clarke, Jake and Ella Flowers, son Andrew Wheeler, twin sister Pat Wilkerson, and parents-by-marriage Floyd and Rita Wheeler of Midland, Texas.
