Edna was born November 30, 1918, the oldest of nine children, to Curtis Sherman and Stella Hollingshead Sherman in Eastland, Texas. Her family moved to Potosi in the 1930's. She married D.H. Templeton on August 9, 1941 and lived in Abilene. Edna and her family moved to Potosi in 1959 after she won $1,000 at the West Texas Fair during one of the annual nightly ticket drawings. This allowed them to purchase the property, which also had a small grocery/convenience store on the corner of the property. Edna Lee worked the small store for several years, which is no longer there. She worked for Abilene Public Schools cafeteria services for more than 20 years. She worked as a nursery worker for more than 40 years at Belmont Baptist and Potosi Baptist Church. After the death of her husband in 1981, she attended the Senior Citizens Center on Cherry St. for many years, where she loved to play dominoes and bingo. After retirement, she loved to spend time playing the piano, watching TV and being with her children and grandchildren, whom she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Sherman and Stella Hollingshead Sherman; her husband, D.H. "Slim" Templeton of Potosi; a brother, Raymond Sherman of Lubbock; and sister, "Boots" Ward, of Abilene.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Owen and husband, Ron; son Jerry Don Templeton; granddaughter, Audra Edwards and husband Scott; and great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Reese Edwards; siblings, Mae Carothers of Clyde, Dottie Newton of Lewisville, Pete and Bonnie Sherman of Abilene, Joan Sherman Womack of Lubbock, Laverne and Howard Rogers of Nolan, Joe and Joyce Sherman of El Paso, and Sue Fincannon of Paradise, California; also numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to recognize the loving care given by Care Inn, Hendrick Hospice, Abilene Regional Medical Center, and Dr. David Harper. They also ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Potosi Baptist Church.
