Hollis Troy Buchanan

Hollis was a lifetime resident, farmer, rancher and builder of the Wylie/Caps community. He served as a Deacon of Wylie Baptist Church since 1948. One of his many contributions to the church was building early additions to Wylie Baptist and a Living Christmas Tree. He also participated in building churches in numerous states for Builders of Christ. Hollis walked hand-in-hand with Christ while on this Earth and set forth a great example.
Hollis was born February 19, 1919 at Caps, Texas to Richard Young and Eva Lee (Sadler) Buchanan. He married Marcia Lee McGehee November 20, 1939. Survivors include his wife, Marcia Lee; three daughters, Sharla and husband Bobby Dusek of Abilene, Barbara and husband Henry Pinkston of Abilene, Debbie and husband Wayne Clark of Abilene; seven grandchildren, Troy and Sheila Pinkston, Greg and Allison Pinkston, Karen Dusek, Kenny Dusek, Marshall Pinkston and Shelly Wetzel, Randy and Christy Clark, Hollie and Howard Taylor and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Evelyn Petree, daughter Beverly Buchanan, and great-grandson Joshua Pinkston.
