Anthony Edward Sluder

Anthony Edward Sluder, 16, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010 in Abilene. Visitation will be 4 till 6 PM Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. His funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 West Lake Road, Abilene, TX.

Anthony was born on August 18, 1993 to Tony Sluder and Amy Sluder Moore. He was an Honor Roll student at Houston SAC where he received many academic awards for his dedicated work. He loved to write and his exceptional creativity always showed in his writings. Anthony enjoyed being able to participate in the Junior ROTC at Cooper High School. He was also a “Gamer” where he spent many hours playing games and having a good time with his best friend Ben. Most of all, Anthony was full of life, loved his family, and enjoyed having a good time. He will be missed by all his family and friends who loved him.

Anthony is survived by his mom, Amy Moore and husband James; his father, Tony Sluder and wife Sandy; three brothers, Cody and Austin Fillmon and Taylor Sluder; step-brother, Eric Guenther; grandparents’, Donnie and Sheryl Fillmon and Billy and Kathy Sluder; great-grandmothers, Dixie Davis and Wilma Fillmon; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the teachers and staff of Houston SAC and Mr. Rainey and staff at Ben Richey Boys Ranch for their love and support they have shown Anthony throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor New York, NY 10004.
