On the Range: Giant Salvinia Invasion

It has all the makings of a Hollywood movie.  There's the villian, protrayed by a man dressed as a giant invasive aquatic plant.  There's the hero, the public who uses the state's lakes and waterways.  And a cast of characters, primarily the fish.  Texas Parks and Wildlife recently produced a TV ad that may make  you laugh, but has a serious message.

Giant Salvinia is an exotic aquatic plant from South America that has found its way into Texas waterways.  To better fight this menace, Texas Parks and Wildlife is taking its message to TV.  A crew of filmmakers, advertising experts, and actors lent their hand to help tackle this nasty problem.

A short TV spot is part of a larger campaign which is called the Hello Goodbye campaign to create awareness across the state of the growing problem of Giant Salvinia.  The TV ad will be seen across the state this month.
