Deloris Clinton

Deloris was born December 6, 1950 in Kermit, Texas to Burney and Lorene Carnes. The family moved to Hawley when she was five years old. It was there, several years later, that she met the love her life, Johnny Clinton, through a mutual friend, Douglas Schmitt. Deloris and Johnny married on June 20, 1969, two years after meeting.
Deloris had a great passion and deep love for her family, especially her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. She enjoyed helping people, especially children. She taught Sunday School, Awanas, and other children's programs, some of which she started. She sang in the choir and was chairperson for VBS. She had a great love for sewing, gardening, reading, nature, and teaching her grandchildren about God and all the things she loved.
She is preceded in death by her father, Burney Carnes; sister-in-law, Carol Carnes; and nieces, Chanda Pittman and Kathy Carnes.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny; daughters, Angela Clinton of Dallas, Laura Clinton of Hawley and Sara and husband Frank Skiles of Waco; grandsons, Nicholas and Mason Rains of Dallas, Rowdy, Matthew, and Tucker Lord of Hawley; her mother, Lorene Carnes of Hawley, brothers, Billy and wife Brenda Carnes, Rodger Carnes, Gery and wife Wanda Carnes, all of Hawley and sister, Barbara and husband Wayne Taggart of Novice. She also left behind numerous other family and friends, along with her beloved dog, Mollie. She had a gracious soul that will be deeply missed.
