Dorothy Jane Wretman, 89, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010.
She was born on June 27, 1920 in Albion, Iowa, the daughter of Willie
and Blanche Underwood. She married Harold Nelson on December 27, 1942.
He died at sea in 1945. Dorothy married Richard Paul Wretman on July 21,
1946 in Storm Lake, Iowa. They were married for 62 years until he
passed away in 2008.
Dorothy was a graduate of Iowa State Teacher's College (now the University of Northern Iowa) and taught school for several years. Later, she taught piano and organ lessons.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Carole Malone of Abilene and Linda Morris and husband Doug of Abilene, grandsons Derrik Malone and wife Cathy of Magnolia, TX, Robert Morris of Abilene, and Stacie Bingham and husband Brandon of Arlington, VA.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
