Distracted Driving Sends Driver Up a Creek

By: Bob Bartlett
Updated: August 22, 2012
It could have been so much worse for the driver of this pickup. He was able to walk away after he lost control of the truck as it left Highway 351 in Shackleford County, swerved across some rocky ground and into a creek.

It happened Tuesday afternoon.

The driver told DPS troopers he was on the phone when he swerved to miss something in the road and wound up in the creek.
