Going Green: Gililland Ranch
By: Kailey Franz
Updated: May 14, 2010
At one point the Gililland Ranch was over run with both cactus and mesquite. Believe it or not both of these are considered invasive non-native vegetation in our area.
The state is offering aid to farmers and ranchers who are trying to bring back the natural state of the land. In our area this would consist of waist high grasslands and scattered trees.
If you're interested in completing a project along these lines you can contact your local extension office.
