Workers at the big industrial plant called firefighters about 6:45 a.m. The first firefighters at the scene reported that a fire in a dust collector had filled the building with smoke. Firemen worked to put out the fire and blow the smoke away. There were no injuries, and it took less than an hour to get everything under control.

  • Brownwood police arrested a 26 year old man charges that he assaulted police officers.
  • The Texas workforce commission reports that the Abilene unemployment rate stayed at 6.3%.
