Going Green: Hurricane Alex

When you think of green and eco-friendly a hurricane isn't the first thing that comes to mind.

Hurricane Alex making landfall in Mexico means a number of things for us here in the Big Country.

For most people a hurricane is not wanted and does more harm than good. But in our case up in the Big Country we have seen a lot of positive things from this past weather pattern.

With all the cloud cover being brought in from the disturbance our temperatures have managed to stay 6 to 10 degrees below normal for this time of year. This not only feels nice, but is helping you cut back on your energy consumption .

Another way it's benefiting our area is the amount of rainfall we have been seeing this past week. This amount of rain this late in summer is very beneficial for everyone's yards and water bill.


So when all is said and done it looks like Hurricane Alex is just helping all of us live a little greener this week.
