There's something green you can buy from your local garden store other than the plants.
When you plan on buying plants you're generally looking to buy something green. Turns out, your new plant could be green in ways other than the color.
Biodegradable pots are an advancement from the old plastic pots.
The problem with plastic in the landfills is that it takes lifetimes to biodegrade and decompose. The new biodegradable pots not only fully decompose but help the plant in the process.
They can be put directly in the ground and they fertilize the plant as they decompose.
The pots are mainly used for vegetable crops but with all the benefits they offer they're expected to be used for a wider variety of plants.
The pots can be found at most garden stores.
