At a campaign stop in Fort Wayne on Monday, Pence said he would continue to support the state's school voucher program -- expanding measures to help the state's underprivileged students attend private schools.
Pence also said that he would continue to support the state's right to work law. The law was passed earlier this year and gives workers the right to opt-out of union membership.
The Congressman also said he wants to strengthen state K-12 schools by adding to vocational offerings. His plan would partner high schools with local companies -- providing specialized job training based on the needs of businesses in different areas of the state.
"The career training that a student might want to get in Fort Wayne is going to be very different than in Valparaiso or Evansville because there's different jobs in that area," said Pence.
In the latest Howey/Depauw University poll, Pence had a 13 point lead over his Democratic opponent John Gregg.
