TexasHSfootball.com has released its projections for Class A in Texas high school football, and Big Country teams have left their mark.

In Class A Division I Goldthwaite is again projected to finish at the top of Region IV after their title winning season in 2009. The Eagles are ranked second in the state behind the team they defeated in the state finals, Canadian.

Right behind Canadian in Region I is Albany. The Lions ranked third in the state and  are looking to improve on a stellar season in 2009 which led them to a second place finish to Cayuga in the state finals.

The Haskell Indians are the only other Big Country team in Division I predicted to make the playoffs in 2010. The Indians are ranked 40th in the state and are predicted to finish third in District 4-A behind both Albany and Seymour.

Division II holds six projected playoff teams, most notably the seventh ranked Munday Moguls who are picked to finish first in District 8-A and second in Region II behind Iraan.

All three projected playoff teams in District 7-A hail from the Big Country.

The Pied Pipers from Hamlin are picked atop the district and are also picked eleventh in the state. Roscoe is picked to finish just behind Hamlin in the district and will carry their number 16 ranking in the state into the season. Rounding out the playoff teams from District 7-A is Roby. The Lions head into the season as the 34th ranked team in Class A Division II.

In Region III both Gorman and Baird have been picked to make the playoffs in 2010. Gorman who is ranked 32nd is projected to finish behind Meridian in District 9-A and in front of Baird who is the 37th ranked team in the state.
