Abby Neinast was born with a heart condition known as tetralogy of the lome. She essentially had a hold in her heart. Doctors held off on valve replacement surgery until she was four years old. At a check up one year ago, Abby's cardiologist made a frightening discovery--the hole had expanded. She would eventually have to undergo another valve replacement. Abby's husband and she hoped to have a baby someday, but getting pregnant with an enlarged ventrical was a risk. Abby's doctor told her..if the valve replacement was done early enough, they could reduce the enlarged ventrical. So, she decided to go ahead and have it done to increase her chances of a successful pregance for both the baby and herself. Abby's doctor says, her heart already looks healthier. As for baby plans, Abby says they will likely wait a little longer, but she says she now has peace of mind knowing that , when the day does come, she will be ready both mentally and physically.
