According to the latest Siena Poll, the tables have turned in favor of the Democrats in the 55th New York State Senate district race.

Poll numbers show Democat Ted O'Brien with an 11 point lead over Republican assemblyman Sean Hanna. Researchers at Siena say just weeks ago, O'Brien trailed by eight points. Both candidates are running for the Senate seat currently held by long-time politician Jim Alesi. Researchers say this is one of the key races Democrats are hoping will help them take the majority in the State Senate next year.
