All night long the numbers against Issue No. 5, the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act, have been ahead.
Totals are 52-percent against and 48-percent for with 63-percent of precincts reporting.
The state statute sought to make medical use of marijuana legal under Arkansas law and establishing a system for the cultivation, acquisition and distribution of marijuana for qualifying patients through dispensaries.
Arkansas Family Council had pushed hard to urge voters to oppose the act, while Arkansans for Compassionate Care had pushed back hoping to win voter approval.
