Nearly 67-percent of voters voted against the unification plan that would have combined the city and county governments.
In the days leading up to the election, many voters expressed confusion over the lengthy plan.
After the final vote came in, Yes! For Unification supporter Joe Kiefer said the campaign didn't do a good enough job marketing and communicating its message to voters.
With only 33-percent of voters voting in favor of consolidation, many say it's clear the plan was not crafted for the people.
