Pamela Hernandez has lived on Don Juan since May and said it's a pretty quiet community.
"My purse was stolen out of my car, but besides that, it's a pretty low key neighborhood,” Hernandez said.
She said she didn't hear anything out of the ordinary Tuesday night. Even though she lives only two houses down from where the gun fire took place.
"They were outside barbecuing, just doing what they do," Hernandez said.
The shots were fired around 2 am Tuesday morning. While luckily no one was hit by one of the rounds, Metrocare's building was struck by a stray bullet.
"Never had any incidents like that before. They heard shots hitting the building, so they notified the Law Enforcement Center. They kind of just left it at that and hoped they would find whoever was doing the shooting," Neil White, with Metrocare said.
30 year-old Melissa Charo and 30-year-old Reuben Charo were both arrested and charged with third degree deadly conduct in relation to this shooting. Both of them are Taylor County Detention Officers. 36-year-old Timothy Price was also arrested in relation to this crime.
"I'm glad nobody was hurt. I'm glad that everyone followed the policies and procedures. Got law enforcement involved and I'm very, very glad that the building was on lockdown," White said.
Even with the news that something like this has happened in her neighborhood. Pamela feels comfortable living there with her husband and two kids.
"We'll, I mean of course when shots are fired near your house it doesn't make you sleep easier. But other than that hopefully it wont happen again," Hernandez said.
