Halloween and Sex Offenders

Every Halloween, the Taylor County Adult Probation Department has all the sex offenders that are under supervision in one place.
It's called the "Lights Out" program and the Director of Adult Probation says this year they will only do that on Sunday evening.
Mike Wolf with the Adult Probation office says by keeping all their sex offenders in one spot, IF something does happen, that eliminates the police having to check on them when time is crucial.
According to the Department of Public Safety, there are more than 300 sex offenders in Taylor County; however, the probation office has only 80 of them under supervision. The rest are handled by other agencies.
It is always a good idea to check websites like the DPS offender registry before going out on nights like Halloween.
