Women in America spend more than $100 billion every year on clothes, so why is it so hard to figure out what to wear in the morning?
A young business whiz may have solved that problem by creating the next big think in fashion.
It's called social merchandising, and it just made the world of fashion a whole lot smaller. You may now have more opinions than you ever wanted on what to wear.
The experts make it look easy, but how long does it take you to figure out what to wear?
Social worker Rachel Benson is buttoned up during the day, so a night out means wearing something special.
"I never know if it's going to be dressy enough of is it too dressed up, I want to look cool but not over the top" said Benson.
She's home alone, but wanted another opinion, so she picked up her phone. Not to call a friend, but to access the millions of fashionistas at her fingertips.
"Today we ask the mobile phone for directions for what restaurants to eat at, let's ask the phone for an opinion on what outfit to wear as well" said Marissa Evans, creator of GoTryItOn.com.
26 year-old Harvard Business grad Marissa Evans created "GoTryItOn.com".
"I say the site is for anyone who has to get dressed in the morning" said Evans.
Upload a picture, and within minutes you'll get as many opinions as you can handle. It's the beginning of a new form of fashion called "Social Retailing".
"Wouldn't it be cool if there was sort of a marketplace of opinions where users could go and get feedback real time about which option looks best" said Evans.
It just launched, and the site already funnels one million opinions, and 60,000 new visitors a month.
As for Rachel's outfit, she got 56 votes within an hour.
"Some people recommended some changes black skinny jeans instead of the flared jeans, black shoes instead of gold ones" said Benson.
Whether you're fashion forward, or a fashion disaster, now the world can weigh in on what you're wearing.
GoTryItOn.com is monitored 24-7 and any inappropriate comments or pictures are removed immediately. They hope to launch a Go-Try-It-On iPhone app shortly to streamline the process.
