Wednesday, 11 a.m.:
Shawn Adkins, the last person to speak to Hailey Dunn before she disappeared, has been taken in for a polygraph test.

The Texas Rangers escorted Adkins into the Colorado City law enforcement center at 10:45 a.m.

What was talk of the town is slowly becoming talk of the nation.

"I would never do anything to that little girl," said Shawn Adkins, boyfriend of Hailey Dunn's mother, "I love her with all my heart."

Adkins was the last person to see the missing Colorado Middle School cheerleader alive before she disappeared on December 27.

"It's frustrating, you know, what she said about me," said Adkins, "but it really doesn't bother me because my main focus is just Hailey."

Despite red flags being raised on Adkins, Hailey Dunn's mother, Billie Jean Dunn says the speculation from Nancy Grace viewers doesn't bother her.

"I just was so thankful for the attention," said Dunn, "that's all, I just wanted Hailey's face up there."

Many people are wondering why no Amber Alert was issued.

"There's a lot of frustration," said Pete Kampfer, City Manager of Colorado City and spokesperson for Colorado City Police, "people are calling us, they're calling PD."

Local authorities say they tried to issue an Amber Alert three times, but failed to meet the criteria.

"Of course as soon as we get that evidence, and get closer to that, on issuance of an Amber Alert, we're going to be right on top of it."

As authorities piece together Hailey's case, Adkins says he only hopes for one thing.

"We just want her to come home safe," Adkins said.

There are still many questions that need to be answered, but community says they stand behind Hailey, and pray for her safe return.

Monday night's $10,000 reward has grown to $25,000 overnight for tips that lead law enforcement to Hailey Dunn.
