UPDATE: Elite Search Group on Standby in Dunn Case

By: Austin Kellerman
Updated: January 7, 2011
Friday Morning Update:
The Dunn family has requested that Texas Equusearch takes part in the search for 13-year-old Hailey Dunn, according to TES member Cheryl Manchac.

Manchac says TES has been in contact with local law enforcement and they are currently on standby to assist.

The group says its currently working with authorities to formulate a plan about whether Equusearch should be involved and where they might be needed most.

Original Story:
Members of the elite Texas Equusearch recovery team tell bigcountryhomepage.com they're aware of and watching the case involving missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn.

TES has been involved in some of the most high profile missing persons cases including that of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway.

Most recently, the group helped located the body of Houston-area 12-year-old Jonathan Foster after he was allegedly abducted.

TES members tell us they've been following Dunn's case but have not been contacted by law enforcement. The group says it gets involved in a case when it's asked to do so by law enforcement or the family of the missing person.

When asked whether they'd be willing to help search for Dunn if contacted by the authorities, bigcountryhomepage.com was told "we'd sure try."

TES is known for being able to deploy on short notice resources such as radar, sonar, scuba diving or SAR dog teams, and vehicles ranging from all-terrain vehicles to boats to aircraft to remotely operated vehicles.

Texas Equusearch is a non-profit group that operates on donations. The services of TES don't cost taxpayers or law enforcement agencies.

I take exception to the following sentence in this story "Most recently, the group helped located the body of Houston-area 12-year-old Jonathan Foster after he was allegedly abducted." The term "allegedly" means supposedly, but questionable. Jonathan Foster WAS abducted and his charred to a crisp body was dumped on the side of the road. That's factual and to suggest it might not have happened is insulting to the family. Please correct.
