People in the Big Country are turning to prayer for hope in the Hailey Dunn investigation.

At the Fountaingate Fellowship, Pastor Scott Beard teaches the importance of having hope.

"The Bible says hope put off makes the heart sick. If we don't have hope, we have nothing," he said.

The "Find Hailey Dunn" Facebook page grew tremendously over the course of the past week with people united by their hopes and prayers for her safe return.

"All of them come from different backgrounds, all of them are different. But at the end of the day, the hope there is that there's a power and a release that will bring her home," Beard said.

Beard believes the sheer number of people who have joined the cause is in itself an answered prayer.

"If nothing else, it's a sign of what prayer is doing," he said.

In addition to the Facebook page, people all over the Big Country said they're hoping for the best.

"People where I work are praying, it's the talk. Everyone that comes in feels like that's their child. That's how it is in West Texas," said Abilene resident Melissa Windham.

Although some are wary as to what the investigation will find, Beard said he will continue to hope and pray for a positive outcome.
