Hailey Dunn's mother appeared weary this evening as she spoke to KTAB's Victor Sotelo and Priscilla Luong about the day's developments in her daughter's disappearance.

"I feel lost,'" Billie Dunn said.  "I just want her home."

Dunn said she, along with her mother and Hailey's father, submitted DNA samples to authorities over the weekend in order to put Hailey's DNA on file.

While DPS and fellow investigators are aggressively tackling the criminal side of the investigation, Senior Tropper Sparky Dean said they remain optimistic that the 13-year-old is alive and hiding somewhere.  When asked if this gives her hope, Dunn answered very hesitantly.

"I hope they believe that, because I need to believe that, too," she said.

Dunn told Sotelo that her daughter had never left for the night without saying where she was going, and never sneaked out of the house.

Earlier in the day, Billie spoke out against some of the people who have been pointing the finger at her and her family regarding Hailey's disappearance.

“It’s completely ridiculous how people who don’t know me judge me or my home life or the way I parent," said Dunn. "I feel like I’m a wonderful mom. Although I lost my daughter, I did the best I could and I will continue to do so.”

Dunn added that she's particularly thankful to everyone who has been praying for her family over the last 14 days.

“I know I’m not able to speak to each and every one of them, but I want them to know how grateful I am,” added Dunn.
