With seemingly constant updates and developments on the news and rumors and theories being posted 24-7 on the internet, the disappearance of Hailey Dunn dominates conversation in Colorado City these days.

Hailey Dunn's photo is everywhere in town. However, it's not Hailey's photo that folks want to keep seeing. They want to see the 13-year-old safely back in her hometown.

"My husband has been on foot looking. But, there's nothing there," said Cindy Rickett.

Rickett has only lived in town for six months, but you'll still find Hailey's picture inside and outside of her restaurant.

"Everybody is scared especially with their kids and stuff. See for like me, I am raising four grand babies -- three of them are girls -- and that terrifies me. It could happen to mine," said Rickett.

While Rickett's serving up food, Joy Demby is packing it up at the grocery store. Everyone who comes through the store has a theory on what might have happened.

"I think the boyfriend has something to do with it," said Demby.

Demby is referring to Shawn Adkins, who law enforcement has named as a suspect in the girl's disappearance. Hailey's mother, Billie Dunn, says she doesn't know what to think about the new developments implicating her longtime boyfriend.

"I just don't know," said Dunn. "I'm just very confused about it. That's why he's not here, because I don't know."

While it's not looking like a happy ending is on the way, folks are trying to remain hopeful.

"We don't really know what's going on. I hope they find her safe and bring her home," said Demby.

"All I keep thinking of is something back was happening to her and she was calling for help, but no one heard her," added Rickett.
