Ex-offenders run into many different roadblocks when trying to find a job when they are released from prison. Probation officers and employment groups have teamed up and become an organization called Offender Workforce Development Partnership.
Employers can receive benefits while helping out ex-offenders. Companies that hire ex-convicts are eligible for a Work Opportunity Tax Credit. Each employee can bring a maximum credit of $2,400 to the employer.
To apply, you must mail all information within 21 days of the employee's start date.
