Hailey Suspect Traveling Between Dunn and Big Spring

Law enforcement sources tell bigcountryhomepage.com that the only named suspect in the disappearance of Hailey Dunn, Shawn Adkins, has been traveling between a home in Dunn, Texas and his mother's house in Big Spring over the last few days.
Colorado City's City Manager Pete Kampfer said it's his understanding Adkins has left the home at times. He noted Adkins remains under 24-7 surveillance and officers are aware of his whereabouts.
Since reportedly failing a polygraph exam on Wednesday, January 5, Adkins had been staying at a home in Dunn with relatives. For a number of days, Adkins rarely left. Volunteer searchers told bigcountryhomepage.com they often saw Adkins watching them while they combed through brush and wooded areas.
Adkins is the boyfriend of Hailey's mother, Billie Dunn. He's also the last person to see Hailey on the afternoon of December 27, 2010.
Though Adkins is the only named suspect, authorities say they have several other persons of interest.
Pete Kampfer told KTAB's Tiffany Tatro Sunday law enforcement is following some out-of-state leads. Kampfer said when those leads come in, FBI officers in those respective states are contacted. Kampfer declined to elaborate on the nature of those leads.
Kampfer also said representatives from KlaasKids left Colorado City on Saturday. KlaasKids and the Laura Recovery Center were in town training volunteers on proper searching techniques. Kampfer said, to his knowledge, representatives from the Laura Recovery Center remained in town.
Monday will mark four weeks since Hailey's disappearance. The reward for information leading to her whereabouts sits at $15,000.

I would only think that, that would be Billies emotion in front of millions of viewers. That's what disturbs me. I just witnessed grief.

It's horrible not knowing the unknown.
Somehow or someway the truth of the matter shall be known.

I do not know these people but have been keeping up with EVERY bit of info that is out there.
I am a mother as well and am trying to put myself in Billies shoes. I too believe I would be a wreck. But just how I feel i would react, doesn't mean that's how everyone would react.
Yes Shawn is a liar, that's not a secret. But has he harmed this child? You are only basing your claim on the report of a the sleepover. No where has it been stated it was a slumber party.
I have been really looking at all the facts the we, the public, do have and given the timeline of everything, 4 weeks later there is still no Hailey and still no arrests. If LE's were so gunho it was Shawn, why would they be following leads in Tenn or outlining states.

I just read an article from Haileys friends mother.
The mother of the child who Hailey was supposed to be spending the night. The woman says.. Her daughter is distraught of Hailey missing.
However, the mother states, hailey never spent one night at her house and that Shawn Adkins lied saying Hailey was going to this Childs house to a slumber party sleep over.
I rest my case. Enough said..

I changed my name b/c when I created this account when asked to use a username I assumed it would use that on comments I posted and not my real name. I am not related to Billie or Shawn and have never met them before. I only live in the town over and am grieved by this mother's nightmare and the judgemental, hateful statements made of her.
I just don't understand where such ideas of her being selfish, come from.
Her saying Hailey call 911 not my phone, b/c I don't have it on me. It was an on the spot question. Any mother, you don't have the slightest idea what or how you would react if in the situation and you should be praying to God that you never are or any of your family or friends. This is every parents nightmare. How tragic for this family.
Do you read any of the article that Billie has statements in? Her most recent ones are statements of how all she does is stay @ home and cry all the time. She's grieving her missing child. not protecting shawn.

Just wanted to stress that don't think I am being naive to this situation. I am far from it. I too, at first, when the affidavit surfaced immediatly thought they hurt that baby, the mom and boyfriend did something to her. But I continued to watch all things that were surfacing and reading and when Billie said that the "narcotics" she was taking was pain meds from the dentist and the "party" they were having was family since Hailey was still missing. I began to disregard the affidavit as solid truth. I still thought after all the info of Shawn came out that he did it. But when after the pings came out and the time line of everything, I woke up one morning and I had peace that this man just would not have been able to harm this child without leaving behind very obvious evidence. 4 weeks later she's still missing and no arrests. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?????

I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but I hurt for Billie and hate the attacks she receiving. I also feel for Shawn. I really don't believe he harmed this child. My reasons b/c of the time line of things. I dont think he had time to spontaneously harm this child and not leave obvious evidence. And I just don't think he's intelligent enough to have a plan of attack without leaving obvious evidence as well.
It's tradgic that when someone claims to be the last person to see someone you become a POI and then eventually become a suspect. I can't believe the hell he too is living. All the attention is on him when a stranger who may have abducted her still has her. It just hurts me so bad that the attention is on them too when I personally believe it should be else where. I20 runs right by Colorado City. It's not out of the question she may have been abducted.

The only reason they are in the lime light is b/c of the media and the releasing of the affidavit that too me is VERY VERY VERY stretched in truth. There has been no verification they were buying drugs. What criminal records are you refering too about SA or BD. And again Shawn never threatened to kill Hailey and the only one who claims she was afraid of shawn was the grandmother. She claims Hailey states Shawn would be standing at her doorway, but her mom says she only recently was even sleeping in her room, that she always slept on the couch. I just think everyone has jumped to quickly to a conclusion that is far from the truth. If people were to really watch this mother and hear her, you would know she has no clue where her child is. It terrifies her that everyone seems to be searching for a dead child. She wants everyone looking for a living breathing Hailey. I don't think she knows a things about where her child is.

FaithMiracle, you seem like a very kind person so I hope you don't take this wrong. But people who already have a habit of breaking the law, particularly those who have children at home for whom they're supposed to be role models, should expect this type of scrutiny if they sadly are in a situation like this. SA has threatened to kill the girl and the mom and was the last person to see him, and the girl was afraid of him; is it really all that surprising that people are looking at him? BD was buying drugs instead of calling the little girl with whom her daughter was supposed to be staying; is it a surprise people suspect her? Bless you, and please respect our opinions as (some of us) respect yours. Thank you.

Another thing, when living in a small community, such as Colorado City, trust me it's a very small community. You get a sense of great security that your child is safe no matter what. So not calling to check up doesn't mean she didn't care. I see it as complete trust in her daughter and security in her community. Sadly, the world we live in is evil and has ripped this community apart. In the bible is says "ye without sin cast the first stone". Apparently there are many here who believe they are without sin. Stop being controlled by the media and open your heart and see these people as human beings and not monsters the media is trying to make them out and you may get a clearer picture here.

Polygraphs don't hold up in court b/c they are inconsistant. Billie answers way more than no, yea, um, if you were to watch ALL interviews of her, not just on Nancy Grace. There are MANY interviews with this woman. IT'S OBVIOUS SHE LOVES HER DAUGHTER AND IS TERRIBLY DISTRAUGHT BY THIS HELL THEY ARE LIVING IN. The affidavit is the one claiming they bought drugs the day of her disappearance. Billie said on Nancy Grace they drew out money that night for groceries and such. The "narcotics" the affidavit claims Billie was on the day of the polygraph was pain meds from dental work. She was also on antibotics. Shawn NEVER threatened the life of Hailey ever. The 911 calls were only of Billie and Clint. And many people say ridiculous things when they are extremely upset or hurt or feeling rejected. And these calls were over A YEAR ago.
Billie is by no means a dead beat mom. This child in pics seems very stable, she wouldn't be that way if her mom was a dead beat.

For people that aren't guilty, they sure do act like it.
Isn't it convenient that they were in Scurry County buying drugs the night of her disappearance and how Shawn made a positive inclination that she could be in Scurry County?
How about the fact that Billie constantly is searching in her own mind the right words to say, as Angel has said, always answering with no, yea, um, I don't know why, etc etc.
She is a selfish, uncaring, lying, dead beat that shouldn't be allowed to use the term "mother" because a loving mother would have kicked out her boyfriend the first time he threatened her child. A loving and concerned mother would check to make sure her daughter made it to her friends house, would have called to know exactly where her daughter is.
I think we all know how this is going to turn out. And even if those that are responsible aren't held accountable in this life, you can bet they will be in the next.

Reading these comments just gives me heart burn. I am so distraught by the judgement of these people without knowing all the facts or really seeing these people as those who deserve love. If you watch Billie on Nancy Grace and ALL interviews she's done, that MOTHER is in great distress. She's living a hell that is every parents nightmare and it's her reality. Not only is she grieving from this, her boyfriend has been named the only suspect. He could have been a great source of support for her during this time. But b/c of gossip and the affidavit being released everyone had pegged him as a killer.
I have wrapped my arms around Billie at the vigil, b/c she needs love and support during this time. I have never met this family prior to this, but live in the city over. I love Billie very much and her daughter and pray that Hailey is found and once again can be in her mothers arms. As for Shawn, he picked a bad day to quit his job. Now his world is a daily hell.

Which areas at which did he feel it was important to go back and watch to see if they found anything? I hope they search those areas again, more thoroughly, preferably with dogs! May Hailey finally be found (hopefully alive, but it doesn't look good) and have justice!

I feel like people who are unskilled in reading people may feel Billie Jean Dunn is unemotional. But anyone with any experience in human interaction can see she is distressed to say the least. Guilty people dont spend everynight under the scrutiny of Nacy Grace and co. either. Think people, my god!

I'm not sure at all the mom had anything to do with it. I did at first, and I do think she knows more than she is saying.
Adkins absolutely did something to that little girl, and yes, the night before (26th). No one saw her on the 27th. He left work early on the 27th to dispose of the body, and had about 8 hours to do it.

I think that child disappeared the night b4 and the boyfriend went back to the house to hide evidence possibly even covering up for the mother. The mothers only responses are, no,yea,um when asked questions. Possibly the boyfriend and mother were friends with the neighbor who said he saw her I'n the yard.. And he's covering for them and maybe never saw hailey.. The mother appears tooo unresponsive and looks like a deer caught I'n the headlights.. All of this is very disturbing. What mother wouldn't be out searching for their child? One who knows the outcome already I'n my book!
