The remains of Amber Dubois were discovered in March 2010, 13 months after she vanished. Police say a registered sex offender admitted to killing the child.
Dubois' mother Carrie McGonigle plans to introduce Team Amber Rescue in her daughter's honor. According to the group's website, it will train volunteers in the proper search and rescue techniques so missing children can be found as quickly as possible.
McGonigle tells bigcountryhomepage.com she'll be hosting a fundraising dinner on February 13. If her group raises enough money, she hopes to travel to Colorado City to help search for Hailey.
McGonigle says her group works with KlaasKids and the Laura Recovery Center. Both groups visited Colorado City earlier this month to help aid in search efforts. KlassKids founder Marc Klaas will be the keynote speaker at the fundraising dinner.
