Hailey Dunn Searchers Ask for Your Help

By: Laura Kellerman
Updated: February 7, 2011
Those searching for Hailey Dunn on a regular basis are posing a challenge to Big Country residents – asking for 10 people from each town to assist with searches on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Dunn, 13, was last seen in Colorado City on Dec. 27.

People in Colorado City started mobilizing shortly after she was reported missing, passing out fliers and door knocking in Colorado City and surrounding communities the search gained momentum as the word started to spread, with people traveling from the Abilene and Odessa areas to aid in the search.

Two national missing child search organizations came to Colorado City in January to train volunteer searchers on the proper way to conduct and document searches.

Over time, the daily searches became too difficult to conduct.

"I see in peoples faces they are starting to lose hope and frustration is growing," volunteer Kristy Lloyd said.  " What we need from you right now is to not give up hope.  Hailey is still out there somewhere."

The searches are conducted on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until dark.  Feb. 9's search will begin at the Colorado Civic Center, 157 W. 2nd St.  All subsequent searches will be headquartered from Walnut Street between 1st and 2nd Streets in Colorado City.

"Right now we are asking for anyone with ATV, horseback and of course just people own two feet to come out and help," Lloyd said.  "Food and drinks are provided."

Why not just ask the mother and cut through the chase.
This mother knows where and what happened to her daughter.
It's pathetic.
These people searching for this child.... I commend them.
