Part II of Raw Interview with Hailey Dunn Suspect Shawn Adkins

By: Tiffany Tatro
Updated: February 9, 2011
Dunn, TX – A month and half into the investigation of the disappearance of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn, the only named suspect in the case is breaking his silence.

Shawn Adkins spoke exclusively to KTAB-TV, giving what he calls his version of the truth.

The series of questions and answers in the attached raw interviews have been edited from their original chronological order in order to condense them to specific topics.

In the first video, Adkins tells Tiffany Tatro that his interest in horror films and crime stories is just a hobby.  The photos of him wearing a mask and wielding a knife were taken for Halloween, he said.

In the following video, Adkins says he is still hopeful that Hailey will be brought back.  He discusses the difficulties with having been named a suspect in the case, saying he's tired of living behind closed doors.

"I have nothing to do with Hailey's disappearance," he said. "I love Hailey with all my heart and she means a lot to me, even though I've known her for only two and a half years I would never do anything to her."

Adkins also discussed his rocky relationship with Hailey's mom, Billie, including the day that a fight escalated to getting police involved.  He said he never made any threats toward Hailey that day, as is stated in a police affidavit.
