Abilene Regional Medical Center joined with the American Heart Association to sponsor a "GoRed for Women" luncheon.

More than 500 women, and a few men, were at the Abilene Civic Center for the event.  Speakers addressed warning signs of heart problems and encouraged women to lead heart healthy lives.  Organizers say that many women don't realize heart disease is the nation's number one killer.

The money raised from the event will go directly to help raise awareness and research for heart disease.
