Many Heart Attack Patients Return to Fast Food

By: VERTEXNews
Updated: February 21, 2011
If you see a friend of yours who had a heart attack in a fast food restaurant, don't be surprised.  Some do cut back on their fast food intake for awhile.

Researchers who published their findings in the American Journal of Cardiology say patients need to be better dieticians.

About 20 percent of the 2,500 heart attack patients who filled out surveys say they were still eating fast food every week.  They're mostly employed white males without a college education.

Older patients and those that underwent bypass surgery are more likely to eat elsewhere.
