Update:
Investigators aren't planning to do anything differently in the case of Hailey Dunn after the letter fired off by suspect Shawn Adkins' attorney on Wednesday.

The letter said that investigators were focusing more on Adkins than on finding the missing 13-year-old.

Pete Kampfer, a spokesperson for the investigation, said this type of tactic is common among defense teams, and that investigators are going in the direction that the evidence leads.

"We certainly understand all kinds of frustrations in the case" he said.  "Shawn Adkins has been a person of interest in the case since the very beginning and is continuing to be that."

Adkins' attorney said his client is only interested on cooperating with the investigation.

Original Story:
The attorney of the only named suspect in the disappearance of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn has issued a statement that says law enforcement isn't interested in cooperation in the case.

A letter from attorney C. Barrett Thomas of Abilene says Shawn Adkins has continued to speak with law enforcement despite the attorney's advice. Thomas says Adkins believes in his heart that cooperation is the "key to solving Hailey's disappearance."

Adkins is the former boyfriend of Hailey Dunn's mother.

The letter goes on to say it's clear law enforcement isn't interested in cooperation or exploring possibilities beyond Adkins being the guilty party. Thomas says investigators have found time to search and research Adkins and his family. However, Thomas notes law enforcement has called off the search for Hailey.

Thomas says law enforcement has made allegations of illegal pornographic material but has failed to provide evidence or make an arrest.

The letter goes on to say the greatest hope of Thomas and Adkins is that law enforcement turns its investigation back towards finding Hailey.

Hailey Dunn went missing on December 27, 2010. Adkins is believed to have been the last person to see the 13-year-old.

esther and Sierra...the investigators are doing EXACTLY what they should be. When you are never able to eliminate the last people to see the victim alive (Shawn and Billie)...the 2 people that FAILED the polygraph...the people that are LYING and covering up...then you remain focused on them until they are cleared...in this case Shawn and Billie are FAR FROM CLEARED. All of the evidence is leading right back to those two and now that we have CP found in mass quantities...the police are doing exactly what they should. Nice try though.
