A four-year-old boy named Angel was found on Interstate 20 this morning near the East Interchange by Sweetwater residents on their way to Abilene, according to Sweetwater Chief of Police Jim Kelley.

The boy was found around 6:30 a.m. with "possibly hundreds" of cactus spines in him. "He is in good shape, is very bright and sociable," said Kelley.

Kelley stated that Child Protective Services are now involved and the Amber Alert organization and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children have been contacted, as well as many other law enforcement entities.

Anyone with information may call the Sweetwater Police Department at 236-6686.
