UPDATE: Father of Abandoned Boy Surrenders to Police

The father of a young boy found in the middle of Interstate 20 early Tuesday turned himself in to police in north Texas.
Four year old Angel Flores was found alone and hurt on Interstate 20 in Sweetwater Tuesday morning. A pair of Sweetwater residents found the boy as they were making their way toward Abilene.
Sweetwater police chief Jim Kelley says the boy's father, Carlos Rico, turned himself in to police in Saginaw, north of Fort Worth. Rico is said to have admitted that he abandoned Angel and kept going. He's now charged with child endangerment.
Sweetwater police say several officers are searching the area where the boy was found looking for a duffle bag that Rico may have thrown out at the same time as the boy.

This guy actually came into where I work. He told me that he had killed his son. I didn't believe him at first, but then realized that I didn't think he was joking.. It was really frightening that any father could do this to his child.
