Snyder to Hold John Wayne Film Fest Benefit

The first annual John Wayne Film Fest will be held in Snyder, Texas on Labor Day Weekend, September 2-5, 2011 to benefit the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.

The weekend will begin on Friday at noon with 72 straight hours of Duke's movies shown at the historic Ritz Theater on the square, along with an outdoor screening nightly on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Special guests and celebrities that worked with Duke, including family members of John Wayne, will be on hand to introduce screenings and celebrate the festivities that include the following:
  • John Wayne Impersonation Contest (Jr. and Sr. divisions)
  • Trap Shoot (4-Man Squads)
  • A parade honoring Wounded Warriors
  • Exclusive 'Brown Dinner' for event sponsors and special guests
  • Outdoor dance featuring Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys
  • Open Barrel race
  • Cowboy Church (horseback optional)
Suggested donations of $10 per seat will be accepted online at the official Website, www.JohnWayneFilmFest.com.

Proceeds will benefit the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
