Brittany's Bigs: Big Brother Big Sister Moving Across Town

By: Brittany Pelletz and Stetson Samuel
Updated: July 12, 2011
Abilene's Big Brothers Big Sisters program is moving into bigger accommodations.

The organization was operating out of a building on Pine Street that was bought out by the city in part of the Pine Street Initiative.

Now they're moving to a building on Chestnut Street.  It's a much larger facility and better suits the non-profit's needs.

The organization is expecting to move into the new location within the next six months.
In the mean time, the City of Abilene has agreed to let the non-profit stay in the Pine Street facility.

Once the move happens, the city will demolish the building and create additional parking for the Abilene Civic Center.
