The rest of the work week should have persistent high temperatures with a slim chance for afternoon showers. Tropical Storm Don, now churning near the Yucatan, is expected to make landfall early Saturday. This will lower temperatures, raise dew points and give a 20 percent chance for showers. But this change isn't expected to last too long as temperatures rise back into the triple digits by Monday.
