Ballinger Faces Tough Challenge In District 3-2A Div. I

By: David Robinett
Updated: August 9, 2011
The Ballinger Bearcats are one of several teams in District 3-2A Division I that have a shot at the district title.

The Bearcats shared the crown with Merkel and Bangs last year with a 5-1 record in district play. This year the Cats are picked to finish the season in 3rd place behind Merkel and Bangs. Head coach Aaron Keesee says the district is even tougher to through this year.

His example is that Merkel is ranked 2nd in Class 2A in the state in the Padilla Poll.

Ballinger has 9 starters coming back from last year's co-district champions. The Bearcats open the 2011 season on August 26th on the road in San Saba.
