Supporters Gather to Honor Hailey Dunn's 14th Birthday

Supporters gathered Saturday at the memorial across from Hailey Dunn's home, where stuffed animals have been collected, many with personal messages.

Saturday afternoon dozens of people gathered to write personal messages to Hailey. Each message was tied to a balloon and let go in a nearby field.

Hailey's mother Billie Dunn was at the event. She expressed her anguish simply.

"I just want my baby back home," Dunn told the crowd.

Carrie McGonigle lost her daughter years ago. She founded Team Amber Rescue and came from California to support the event.

McGonigal says she spoke with local law enforcement about assisting the search, but says the arrangement was called off. She had harsh criticism for officials.

"Do you see any of them here? Sometimes those guys come back and 'join forces.' Where are they now?"

Saturday marks eight months since Hailey Dunn went missing.
