Big Country Firefighters Association Holds Fundraiser

By: Marlisa Goldsmith
Updated: August 28, 2011
Saturday morning members of the Big Country Firefighters Association held a fundraiser to offset costs incurred from the recent wildfires.

The BCFFA set up at the Harbor Freight Sidewalk Sale on North First Street to collect donations from the community. In addition to collecting donations, they also sold t-shirts, gave away door prizes, and held contests for children.

"All the proceeds here will be split between all the members of the Big Country Firefighters Association. Hopefully everybody is aware of the drought conditions and extreme fire conditions we've encountered since November," Steve Cochran of the BCFFA said.

The Big Country Firefighters Association said they are extremely appreciative of all the support and donations received in their effort to raise money during this time.
