The West Texas Fair & Rodeo Parade takes over the streets of Abilene later this morning as marching bands, floats, classic cars, and clowns invade downtown.

The annual parade begins at 10:30 a.m. Colonel David Been of Dyess will serve as this year's grand marshal.

According to the Taylor County Expo Center website, the parade proceeds under the underpass North on Pine to N. 6th, heads west one block to Cypress, then goes south on Cypress to First, and then moves est on First to Pine back under the underpass.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three placed floats in all four categories. All floats must be decorated to be judged.

Marching bands will receive a first, second, or third place trophy for each competing class using UIL classifications.
