The West Texas Fair and Rodeo has already topped off last year when it comes to ticket sales and the action is just getting started.  Professional bull riders and young mutton busters alike are gearing up for the 2011 P.R.C.A. Rodeo.

"Every night is a different night all on it's own," says Rodeo Chairman Damon Albus. "We've got the best and biggest cowboys out every night of the week all the way through Saturday."

Even the youngsters will get their time in the spot light while trying to hang tight to a sheep. Mutton busting, Albus says, is "a huge crowd pleaser."

Kids between the ages of 4 and 8 are eligible to compete in the event.

"It warms your heart for these kiddos to get out there." Says Albus, "To see a five year old kid get bucked off a sheep and grab dirt and throw it down and be mad that he didn't make his ride!"

Local cowboys from across the Big Country will be competing in this year's rodeo, all hoping for a chance to qualify for the big event in Las Vegas.

Tickets are free for adults over the age of 60, seven dollars for adults on weekdays, ten dollars for adults on weekends, and four dollars for students everyday.

Revenue from ticket sales at the fairgrounds generated $34,000 more than last year's opening weekend, and $29,000 more from rides than last year.

Expo Center staff say they're on the right track to exceed last year's revenues.

If you are looking for great fun that is safe for the whole family, head out to the Taylor County Expo Center this week.
