For the past few years Jimmy Allmand, an Abilene native, has set up shop at the West Texas Fair and Rodeo. Each day he fires up the grill and cooks up third-pound Black Angus Burgers, Nachos, and Chicken Fijitas. According to Allmand the dish that his customers beg for are his burgers.
"We're the only ones that have an actual flame grill." says Allmand. "Plus its a true Black Angus patty and its just a very tasty burger."
Allmand says the stand takes nearly a month to set up before the fair actually starts, "Throughout the year we come, we clean, we prep, we work on equiptment... it takes about a month to be really ready."
Allmand says the effort is well worth it. He and his wife look forward to the action every year.
