Legendary Songwriter Guy Clark Performing in Abilene This Week

Guy Clark, a legendary country and Americana singer/songwriter, who was born in West Texas, will perform at the Paramount at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, as part of the West Texas Book and Music Festival.

Proceeds benefit the library.

Tickets will be sold from 1 to 5 p.m. on weekdays in the Paramount Theatre lobby. Credit cards, checks and cash will be accepted.

Telephone orders -- credit card only -- may be placed by calling 325- 437-4560 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All tickets are general admission open seating and are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

" W e have had a lot of interest already from local and out-of-town fans of Guy Clark," said festival chairman Glenn Dromgoole. "We are expecting a good crowd for his first performance in West Texas in a long time."

"One couple is planning to come from Florida to hear him," Dromgoole said, "and we've had quite a few inquiries from Austin, Houston, San Antonio and other cities."
