The West Texas Book & Music Festival has officially taken over downtown Abilene.  The annual event attracts and recognizes musicians, authors, publishers, readers, and listeners from across the Lonestar state.

West says he moved to Abilene about 10 years ago and since that time has met a lot of the artists and authors associated with the West Texas Book & Music Festival.

"I thought it would be a good chance for us to be involved together." says West.

West will perform a free show with the Festival on Wednesday around noon, at the arts in the park.  Friday night, Guy Clark takes the stage for the main event.
